Guards – Totem
- The sculpture – totem manifests itself as an abstract guardian, a figure contained in a latent tension that combines the solidity of its base with an ascending energy, articulated through superimposed pyramids. The first, oriented upwards, configures a robust and stable trunk, a defensive structure that suggests contained strength and a will to permanence. The metallic texture, marked by a patina of wear and tear, accentuates this sensation of antiquity, as if the piece had always been there, resisting, protecting. Starting with an inverted pyramid representing a broad, taut back, the form unfolds upwards. This ascending logic intensifies the perception of alertness: the figure does not rest, it remains upright, permanently vigilant. The sharp, precise edges not only define the geometry of the piece, but also underline its defensive nature. The guardian delimits its presence with authority, as if marking a threshold that must not be crossed. At the top, the last inverted pyramid alludes to a head. It does not need eyes to look, nor a mouth to warn. The abstraction transforms the watchful guardian into a totemic entity, an emblem of power that protects what it guards.
- La scultura – totem si manifesta come un guardiano astratto, una figura contenuta in una tensione latente che combina la solidità della sua base con un’energia ascendente, articolata attraverso piramidi sovrapposte. La prima, orientata verso l’alto, configura un tronco robusto e stabile, una struttura difensiva che suggerisce una forza contenuta e una volontà di permanenza. La texture metallica, segnata da una patina di usura, accentua questa sensazione di antichità, come se il pezzo fosse sempre stato lì, a resistere, a proteggere. Partendo da una piramide rovesciata che rappresenta una schiena ampia e tesa, la forma si sviluppa verso l’alto. Questa logica ascendente intensifica la percezione di allerta: la figura non riposa, rimane eretta, perennemente vigile. Gli spigoli vivi e precisi non solo definiscono la geometria dell’opera, ma sottolineano anche la sua natura difensiva. Il guardiano delimita la sua presenza con autorità, come se segnasse una soglia da non oltrepassare. In alto, l’ultima piramide rovesciata allude a una testa. Non ha bisogno di occhi per guardare, né di bocca per avvertire. L’astrazione trasforma il guardiano vigile in un’entità totemica, un emblema di potere che protegge ciò che custodisce.
